if you're getting the wrong memlocs then it's most likely that your ISP is caching the data.

Did either of you attempt to download the memlocs prior to my posting that the memlocs were up?

That's usually the case for this problem. Occasionally multiple people share the same ISP cache in which case they could have also caused your problem.

Either way, the best way to fix it is to either download the memlocs files directly by hand, or stop using the updater for at least 12 or 24 hours and let the cache in the ISP expire. (usually repeatedly attempting to get the file will keep the cache refreshed with the bad version).

There's a site somewhere around here that Digero or someone made that gives links that are downloadable directly. Without a download manager or something similar, a link to the file might not be useful for many people as it is assumed to be an XML document, but is not well-formed. IE doesn't download it properly. FF does if you do it right.

http://update.decaldev.com/updatelist.xml?InsertABunchOfRandomLettersAndNumbersHerePlease is the link to the link of the files.

This is the first patch since I've switched to a PC with Vista. Decal functioned fine on it before this patch. Now, when attempting to update memlocs, I get the error "A file being updated is in use - close programs and try again." I have re-booted with nothing besides Decal running and get the same error. I don't see any file open that is recognizable as being associated with Decal. Anyone know what file might be causing this error, or how to get around this issue?

Thanks!

GondorB: Does Decal have access to copy files/delete files in the Decal folder (since it's part of Program Files, it wouldn't unless you're running elevated, or installed it to somewhere else).

Make sure you're running Decal in elevated so that it has the file access needed to copy files to the Decal folder (and delete the old ones).

Most likely the "in use" error is coming up because it's having problems deleting the old files.

That took care of the problem. I should have checked that, but got sidetracked with searching for a file that was in use. Thanks Drakier for your quick response and for all the efforts you put towards Decal! It certainly is appreciated!! applause

Do these memlocs differ from AC Explorer Pro ACXServ memlocs? If so how do I get ACXServ setup?

IIRC, the AC Explorer server functionality doesn't work with ToD. Just vaguely recalling though, so I may be totally incorrect.

If AC Explorer Server wont ever work again, can someone post a URL to a zip file which has the last/latest updated Dereth Explorer data. When I click update on DE, the update URL location for files cant be found and corrupts the data set so DE won't open up anymore.

Keep AC Strong!

when u dl the dereth explorer it is corrupted..or rather doesnt fully function as it is no longer supported, but u get a working version of dereth server "DServ" which u can use with acexplorer for real time tracking. its located in the file directory that dereth explorer creates when u install it.
