Problems with new Decal installation

I'm coming back to AC after a couple of years away and just installed Decal, along with several plugins. When I try to log in to AC with Decal running, I can't get the AC screen to stay up, it keeps going back to the desktop as if I were hitting Alt-Tab (I play in full-screen mode). The client is running, I can hear the audio track to the intro movie playing in my speakers, but I can't get the AC screen to open. The only unusual thing in the Decal window is that there is a red X next to "Version 1 Plugin Surrogate 2.9.6.0". Could that be what's causing the problem? If so, how do I fix it? Any other suggestions are welcome, below is my DenAgent.exe export:

combater 2 is decal alpha 7 rated, we are running alpha 8 - THAT MAY be a problem.
portal helper is an alpha 6 rated plugin, see comment above.
idler is a RETIRED alpha 3 rated plugin, see above.

Problems with new Decal installation

I unistalled everything, ran the Decal registry cleaner, and did a reinstall of all necessary components, but still can't keep AC up on my screen when in full screen mode. However, it seems to work fine in windowed mode. Not sure if this is a Decal bug or just an idiosyncracy with my particular system, but here's my current log if anyone wants to check it out:
