Subject: WF21 File Problem with Decal
Hi, I just installed Decal for the first time. After a lot of trial and error, I found out there is no way for me to get Alinco or Minimaps to work. The problem happens right after I install the wf21 file. Decal no longer opens until it is uninstalled and it gives the following error saying that the .dll doesn't match:

AppName: denagent.exe AppVer: 2.9.6.0 ModName: decal.dll
ModVer: 2.9.6.0 Offset: 00054c3f

I did try lifetank right before I gave up and that works fine.

My export file is below. Any help would be greatly appreciated as many people haev told me Alinco is what I'm looking for in a plug-in.

Thanks,
Cleaner

well you are wrong, my computer runs alinco and minimaps just fine.

OF COURSE to run minimaps one must be able to read and understand that the RADAR PLUGIN by the same author is REQUIRED.

BUT then in your defense that fact is ONLY mentioned on the RADAR PLUGIN, ie plugins that use Radar (ie NEED) are: AC+, Mini Map, Corpse Tracker.

BE ADVISED, plugin author just got highly Peeved at Turbine, and cancelled accounts. so further upgrades/fixs won't be coming unless he changes his mind. For now however minimaps works fine.

"well you are wrong, my computer runs alinco and minimaps just fine."

Ok, well, I'm not sure how to respond to this kind of animosity. I never said no one could get them to work I said that I could not get them to work. With Minimaps I did of course install the radar thing first and then Minimaps, but I got the exact same error that I got with wf21. My post was in no way attacking either author.

I forgot to check and see if it was the radar file or the minimaps that caused the error - but I'm not home now so can't check. But in anycase I did it on a fresh decal install and the minute I uninstalled the radar and minimap files - decal started working again. The exact same thing happened with Alinco and wf21. Someone told me minimaps uses that wf21 file too - even though I didn't see it on it's homepage, so I pooled them together in this post.

In any case, I still have a problem with both of those plugins with the dll error I mentioned. If you are the author, of Minimaps, I've heard it's a great program so ty for making it available.

In anycase, if you have any suggestions on how to get them to work on my computer I'd appreciate it.

author of mini maps does A+, not alinco.

don't recall any interaction/use of radar by alinco.

your post mentioned a problem with minimaps, i was saying you have to install BOTH minimaps and radar in order for mini maps to run. can not just install mini maps.

so i was thinking the problem was lack of radar.

not the author, that would be T...S who as the moved to an unviewable page by the public announced in a thread he quit.

Ok - back home now.

Just tried installing Radar Add-On from: http://www.flynn1179.me.uk/ac/radaraddon.htm

And even before installing minimaps, it gave the same error. Here's the text from the error dialog:

AppName: denagent.exe AppVer: 2.9.6.0 ModName: decal.dll
ModVer: 2.9.6.0 Offset: 00054c3f

As you can see it's the same error I get with alinco.

Thanks again for any help.

that would seem to be some kind of problem with decal, may have to check the dev decal boards. something may not be loaded.

our exports look very similar with exception of a few c++ libraries installed or not.

will probably need a DECAL expert to help you and maybe the developer board can help.

Ashake on MT my monarch helped me figure it out happy

It turns out while installing, I thought I was turning off the .Net 2.0 installation since I already had 2.0 and didn't want to bother. What I was actually turning off on the custom install was the .NET 2.0 Support. Evrything's working fine now - thanks for the help.
