Well as I got my beta notices about xp sp3 and vista sp1 today i thought i would check with all the decal developers and also let everyone else know that if you have Windows XP you will be getting a service pack update soon...not sure how soon but if we are getting beta notices for it then it is not too far off like a year or less.
also in true microsoft fashion they will be dumping out a service pack for vista soon as well. it never surprises me when microsoft releases an os then shortly after releases a service pack to fix all the stuff they did not get done before the os came out.
anyway...all you decal developers out there might want to fire up the bit torrents and google to get your beta copies...

This is why I never get an OS within a year of it's initial release- it's always buggy as heck for a while.

I think I'll still wait. Even SP2 had issues on installation on 1 of 5 PCs I touch.
But thanks for the heads up, I didn't know they were planning it. I wonder what it'll include...

SP3 is primarily a bug fix and security rollup, not much in 'new' functionality.
If you are on XP, I suggest getting it, however if you've been keeping your computer up to date with Windows Update, you won't see much new or interesting...

Lolololololol, you would think that defeats the purpose of Vista no? It is one of there money grabbing tactics, just like making alot of the new more popular games vista only, get with it!

heh i just switched to xp from 98 when expac came out
edit: i think being forced to pay for an OS upgrade is BS for the personal use sector, specially windows, its like buying a car but if you want to drive it you have to pay extra for the keys
im a hardware guy not software and build all my rigs, i will never buy that junk they slap together and call a pc from a mass producing company, not to mention i can build a much better one for the money and i dont mind paying $100 for an OS once but all upgrades from that point should be free or greatly discounted, i would need to buy 5 copies just to get all my machines updated
but they set the rules and we either follow or we dont get to use it
