My grandparents emmigrated to Australia in the late 50's. They had both survived work camps in WWII (thats another story) and the recovery in Holland after the war was slow, Grandpa wanted to leave Europe in search of sunny skies and a mining lease out the back of no-where. My mother was 13 years old the eldest of 3 at that time (later 6)and spoke not a word of english.
She married her 1st husband aged 17, he killed himself when she was 19. She had a few boyfriends before getting pregnant in 1969 to a fisherman "my father"! At the time she was living in a place called Nambour, where I was born. This is deep in the heart of Queensland, as Sir Joh (the old premier) called it "God's Country", and to be fair, it is a pretty wonderful part of the planet.
My mother as it turns out has fatal man syndrome, she has always and is still making bad choices with men. Her relationship with my father lasted until I was about 2.5 years old. She ran off in the middle of the night with me on her hip and a bag of baby clothes under her arm, literaly ran. He liked to drink and show his woman who was boss, she liked to poke him into a rage then cry when he beat the living daylights out of her.
She ran to Darwin! What I consider "home". We lived pretty rough for the next couple of years, share housing, crashing on couches, sleeping in unlocked cars. Then she met "my dad", he was like my god, he was a carpenter who had come to Darwin looking for work, he was also a hippy who drove/lived in a red VW kombi van. They got married and decided we needed to go on a road trip, I was 4.5 years old when we drove from Darwin, to Melbourne, got on the Ferry and crossed over to Tasmania to meet the new Grandparents! are we there yet? They concived my little brother on the way.
To say that we the unwashed hippies didn't fit in to the new grandmas vision of how humans should behave is a little of an understatement. She promplty took me under her wing and the fist thing she did was give me the biggest bubble bath in the universe, I didn't know such pleasures existed!
She had so many wonderful things, I walked around in a constant state of amazement. She had bedrooms for guests.. for no-one, astounding. She washed me she groomed me she trimmed my hair and let me wear it out all shiney and golden. Much to Grandmothers delight, I took to being a lady like a duck to water! We had been there some 3 months and were planning to leave after Christmas, when on Christmas morning, we got up not to a happy pressie opening time, (My 1st real christmas with a tree and everything) but to the news that Darwin had been leveled by Cyclone Tracey.
There was no home to go to, I was secretly pleased as it meant I could stay with my new found soulmate(grandmother), mom and dad got themselves a flat on the other side of town town from Grandmother (cry)! But then, the most wonderful thing happened, my brother. To say I doted on my brother would be an understatement, I still do.
My brother was 6 months old when dad sold the VW Kombi van , there were tears, and brought a Land Rover and a Caravan for the drive back up to Darwin. The government was offering all kinds of incentives to families to move back and rebuild. So the long drive continued, but this time we stopped along the way at every little (or big) thing that was to see or do. We did some mining up at Freds (moms dad) for sapphires, we mined at Mt Suprise for Topaz, Fred taught me how to cut/polish stones and hypnotise chickens.

We got to Darwin, and for the 1st time ever I went to one school for a whole year, grade 3, prior to grade 3 I had been to no less than 6 schools and some school of the air. My kother at my Grandmothers behest sent me to private school, which in this case turned out to be a Catholic School, and so started my romance with Jesus.
I loved Jesus so much, he was everything to a little hippy kid like me. Much to my mothers horror I asked to be baptised and she denied me this right. The parish priest baptised me anyway when I went and saw him in tears saying I wasn't going to heaven like the other kids because my sin wasn't going to be washed away. He promplty took me into the church and baptised me, it was our secret. R.I.P Father Franzman.
I was in grade 6 when mom decided she didn't love dad anymore and wanted a divorce. My whole universe imploded. He left and our lives changed, for the worse. She had a 19 year old lover and she became disco queen, it was all about the nightlife. Dad had moved to Cooktown (yes where Captain Cook landed to make repairs, he got around)he had no idea what was going on, mom was working all day and out all night. Like the little gutter rat that I was I learnt to survive and now I had a little brother, so I wasn't alone and lonley anymore.
High School, at about age 13 I grew the bewbies, I didn't just grow any old set of bewbies, I grew a fantastic pair of bewbies, not big, but perfect. I also grew long legs, I was always a skinny kid, we were semi-malnourished. So I was 13 tall skinny blonde with perfect bewbies, I was popular at high school and even more popular with the boys, and so started my sexual awakening. All of a sudden I had this power! I was a naughty girl, I drank, smoked, smoked weed, had sex out of wedlock. I wagged school but always passed. I snuck out of home at night to go dancing and drinking in nightclubs aged 15.
I started working when I was 13, I like money, I like to spend it, I like to live well, therefore, one must work. I worked in the fashion industry for a long time and the beauty industry when mom owned a beauty salon. I did a little modeling as well I was never going to make a living out of it, I have dabbled in horticulture, I have done a ton of catering, I can sell sand to the arabs and ice to the eskimos. What ever I turn my hand at I do well, if I think I might not be good at it, I avoid it (fear of failure).
I fell out of love with the church in high school, I still think Jesus is a groovy dude, I am just not one for church.
I finished high school aged 16 (year 12 or as we call it matriculation), I passed not with flying colours, but considering I didn't do any homework was hardly there, I turned up for exams and aced them.
I left home the week before my last exams, things at home had gotten pretty bad, the lover had dumped mother and she was a basket case with fists. I left home and started working full time right away in an office for a fibreglass company ( I worked there again later in life) I was a party girl, I liked all the fun things in life, I experimented with drugs, sex and living the high and fast life. I had older lovers, I had female lovers, I had kinky lovers. I got jaded, I knew I wanted something other than fun times.
I met the 1st "love" of my life when I was 17, he broke my heart 5 ways from sunday. Around the same time that my daddy killed himself. I rebounded into a relationship that was to last 15 years. I mistakenly thought that being loved was as good if not close enough to being in love, by age 21 I had my 1st child.

I stayed in a very miserable, relationship well past its use by date, thinking I didn't want to be like my mother and fail at relationships. I took me many many unhappy years and a serious contemplation of suicide before I was brave enough to leave. I am going to skim over that husband We traveled the world together, we made a beautiful child, and thats possibly the only good thing to ever come out of the rat bastard.
While we were living in the USA (Alaska) I was given a game called Asherons Call, I had nothing better to do with my days but play, I wasn't working, for the first time in my life and I could only clean house so much, I was visiting neighbours and cleaning thier houses. I was going cabin crazy. I ran a nice little clan on HG for some years, you may have noticed some folks call me Betty, thats because of my ingame name. Betty Al Frog.
We moved to the UK, and things got worse in our relationship to the point that we no longer slept together, we hardly conversed, it was over, excpet, we were living in the UK, I couldn't leave, I had nowhere to go and was worried about my rights in the UK as he had a British Passport. I wasn't going anywhere without my child. So I stayed. I had such a great clan in AC, some stella folks, and one in particular was always there for me, a little romance blossomed between us, not online but rather on the phone. My marriage was already over, he had a "lover" in vegas, but didn't want me to leave, it was messy.
Before coming home to Australia, I went to Greece to meet my future husband for the 1st time in the flesh. He flew in from Oregon and I met him at the airport in Athens, and so the happiest chapter of my life began. We fell into each others arms and didn't come up for breath for 10 days, 10 of the most glorious days. We both knew then that we were ment for each other, that every little turn in the road of life had lead us to each other.
I flew back to the UK and packed the last of my things and Renee and I flew back to Australia. The greatest love of my life followed me some 6 weeks later and we haven't spent a day apart since. We found each other after already having lived a lifetime, we know we are the luckiest human being alive. I thought things couldnt get any better, when along came my 2nd child.
Teylar Rane, my love child, my big eyed, curly headed boo boo.
I would love to have more children. I can't seem to convince the husband that it's a good idea. I am 37 and he is 46, we are getting long in the tooth for more babies. Doen't stop me from wanting them.
Fun Facts:
My nickname for most of my childhood and some family members still to this day call me Frog.
I have been to Indonesia over 10 times.
I don't speak Dutch, mom wanted us to assimilate.
I see the sunrise everyday.
OK... I think I am done, a lot of holes, and gaps, but hey, you possibly know too much already.

Haha, my 1st car. My very 1st car was a banged up old ute with a V8 chevy engine I was 18 and paid cash for it, I am a bit of a petrol head
I could drive a car aged 11, my 1st time driving I was 9.
I drive a little shiny black Mazda (2/neo) now.

I grew up in Northern VA.
I spent summers in Kansas on my Aunt's farm (5000 acres sporting a lake and 3 fishing ponds). I uncovered my first dinosaur bones there.
My parents lived in Alice Springs from 1970-1975.
