Let's see, I'm 28, I live in Kent, Washington, and I develop defense software for somewhere that starts with a B and ends with Oening. I also have the coolest brother, who is 31 with a wife and two kids. Overall, I'd say my life has been a very fortunate one with some bumps in the road, but probably nothing more than most other people have had to deal with. I guess I'll start from the beginning.
I was born in Scottsdale, AZ when my dad was a base labor construction worker and mom worked as a bank teller. We were poor, lived in a small trailer and I wore clothes that were hand-me-downs from my brother, and made by my mom. I guess I was a very liberal little kid, running out of the house and stripping off clothes, terrorizing the neighborhood with my two year old hotness. I don't remember all that, but I am reminded of it often from my mom. Anyway, my dad is the hardest worker I've ever seen, and through his hard work (as well as my mom's), he worked his way up the construction ladder. Until the 1st grade, we moved pretty much every two years - to Colorado, Texas, back to AZ, back to CO, back to Texas, so as a young kid, I never had many real friends other than my bro. Things changed when my dad got a job to help build the Saturn manufacturing plant in Tennessee.
We moved up to this really small town of about 2000 people in Chapel Hill, TN where I started 1st grade. Normally, you'd think a town that small wouldn't be too welcoming to newcomers, but it was exactly the opposite - we were immediately accepted and befriended by most everyone. Within days, I met a guy that'd become one of my lifelong friends, Aaron. His family also pretty much adopted my family...their family clan lives all within two miles on the same road, a road that bears the family name. We're the only family that they'll sell land to (who aren't blood related). Fantastic people, I love em to death. So, from 1-6th grade, TN became where I "grew up". Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.
Right before 7th grade, we moved up to Spanaway, WA. I'll cut a lot of other stuff out, but I was pretty depressed, went in to get a physical for football and the doctor looked at me and said, "You're fat, you're never going to have a social life being that fat", which promptly crushed any self esteem and self worth I had at the time. This problem would plague me for about 12 years. I pretty much developed the same body complex I've heard women deal with, so on that level...I can relate. I had a hard time talking to new people, women especially. I wasn't very outgoing, prefering to spend time at home reading books or just hanging out with my best buds (all of which remain my best friends to this day). That sort of cycle continued throughout high school, and into college.
I graduated HS with a 4.0, valedictorian, captain of the football and track team, blah blah. I got accepted into and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2001. My first real job was for a military contractor doing support things for the software on the Stryker and other Army vehicles. It sucked, I hated it and moved on to the current gig, where I work on an Australian bird sorta like the AWACS. Fun stuff, I love it here. Now I'm single, professional, and enjoying the hell out of life.
With regards to other aspects, I'm very interested in social dynamics, especially with regards to dating. I mentioned earlier the part about being bad with girls due to lack of confidence or love for myself, which I changed about 4 years ago. I realized I'd been getting into bad relationships because girls liked me, not because I chose a girl that was a good fit for me and what I have to offer. I didn't like myself, which was dumb because how could I offer a girl anything if even I didn't like what I would give her. So I changed it. I found certain materials that helped me improve myself, figure out how to love myself, and be a better person. I developed what people call "game", and I learned how social interaction works to the point where I'm in complete control over my success with women. I learned how to relate and talk to women in a way that we both "get" each other, which a ton of guys really have no idea how to even comprehend. More importantly than just chicks, it lead me to be a better person overall. The fun part is knowing that I can be as wildly successful dating as I want to be.
Me in a short(ish) way. Oh yeah, some random facts - I've been the best man in 4 weddings (always the maid of honor, never the bride lol). I have two cats, both are black as night. I do the martial arts style Krav Maga, as well as train under the Bas Rutten MMA system. I think mornings are the bane of my existance (unless you count 4am and me not having gone to sleep yet). I very much dislike negative people. I'd probably have sex with DE if I drank Jager.

I would consider myself successful in general, but I never stop looking for room for improvement. The thing about difficulties in my life is I got to the point where I had two choices - be bitter and blame others, or dust myself off, learn something, and be better. We all get knocked down, the important thing is how you get up. Thanks for the kind words.

I'll play scared! I'll even look out my window suspiciously and tighten the blinds.
Okay, I'll roll this story just because I'm avoiding doing real work for a second. I started talking to this one girl, we'll call T. T's a pretty hot number, slender and top heavy if you catch my meaning. Turns out, she once ran for one of the prelim Miss America contests in Burien, WA....ie the Miss Burien contest (I guess, I didn't research it lol). She also had been a volunteer for the organization for about 6 years. She lives in Burien, and as I soon found out...had a LOT of Burien pride. Side note - Burien's really nothing impressive...kinda borders Seattle, but I've never heard anyone say "Hey guys, screw Tacoma/Seattle, let's go hang in Burien!!"
We go out for coffee, great time, great conversation...a lot in common. She mentioned she hadn't seen the Punisher before (movie) and I told her that was my favorite movie, so I invited her over to check it out one night. She comes by, things get a little hot and heavy but I felt like she might regret something if we went all the way, so I told her we should slow it down a bit. No biggie, I just don't lay girls if I get the impression they might not be completely comfortable afterwards. We have a great rest of the night, make plans for the next Friday. The day after all this, I went on a ride-along with my best buddy that's a cop. Turns out his district is the White Center district, which borders the Burien district. I guess White Center is kind of ghetto...rough area.
Date night, I end up meeting her in a place that my buddy and I had stopped to grab a drink when doing the ride-along. I casually make a comment "Hey, my buddy works in this area...the White Center district I think." She gives me this pissy look and says "This is Burien, NOT White Center." So I'm like "Okay, I don't know the area, just saying we went to that spot over there when I was doing the cop thing...sorry if I offended you". I figured that was the end of it, but she was sorta quiet the whole night, almost distant. Date ends fairly early, she says she'll call me this weekend.
Monday, I get an email (no call during the weekend) saying what's up and asking how my weekend was. I tell her "Hey, there's some kind of weird tension going on here...is everything cool?" She responds with "Well, I was just really offended by some things you said Friday night." I don't like offending people, so I ask her what was up...what'd I say that offended her. She rolls back with "Just that you called that area White Center...it's not, it's Burien and I live really close to there. I competed for Miss Burien and work with that organization...that area is NOT White Center." I had a serious WTF look on my face, so I just responded "Hey, sorry if I offended you, it wasn't intentional or meant to mean some huge deal. I was just saying I stopped at that spot when I was with my buddy working White Center, nothing more...nothing less." She then comes back with "We have a lot in common, more than anyone I've ever met...but I don't think this will work out." At that point, I just said "You're very right on that, take care."
Tuesday, she emails me back "Not be beat a dead horse, but here's an email from my friend that is a Burien cop." Email details the physical boundaries of the White Center vs Burien police districts and she circled the area we were in. Then she follows up with "I just wanted to make sure you knew that area is BURIEN, NOT WHITE CENTER." After that I quit being nice lol.
So apparently I've been "dumped" over calling an area the wrong city...lol

I agree with you 100% there, sir. She went from pretty damn cool to WTFpsycho in a very short period of time. The only thing I could think of is what would happen if we got into some kind of real argument...would she slash me with a switchblade or something?
