Subject: Decal issues
After two months of screwing around with my internet connection i finally got it to work. Asherons call will not disconnect me if i am not using decal. But every 30 minutes it will logg me and disconnect if i am running decal. I recently reinstalled the newest decal and it helped me for about a couple hours of not disconnecting then went back to orginal 30 minutes. I do not know if its a port forwarde problem with decal but i have Asherons call's ports open. I hope someone can help me.

here is my export

I do not see anything that could cause the problem you are describing. Decal and lifetank do not interact with your internet at all beyond the authentication and version checks at the very beginning.

There are some tracker plugins that send information to central storage location - server. There is one for rares and another one for mobs. You are running anything like that though.

The only thing I can think of is there is a problem with your connection to the AC world server. Decal and plugins are slowing down your AC client enough that instead of lagging or yellow linking you are being disconnected.

I would start with Drakier's suggestion and turn off piggie Lifetank and see what happens.

You said that you had recently installed the newest decal. Did you follow all the "clean install" procedures for getting rid of the old version that are listed on the Decal website?

I see this " [Launcher App] : ACDCClient.exe ". That's not right. You can either install the latest version of Dual Client and run it once and then uninstall, or you can edit your "launcher.ini" file in the ToD folder to make the second line read "Application=acclient.exe" (without the quotation marks). It may not be causing your problem, but every little bit helps hehe.

If you are getting disconnected EXACTLY every 30 minutes, I'd ask what kind of internet connection you have. That sounds like possibly a dialup ISP process that automatically disconnects people and makes them reconnect. PeoplePC did that to me every 4 hours when I was on dialup. Their support people even denied it when I called to ask about it, until I found the info on one of their PR pages full of fine print lol.

Jothony: he IS running the latest ACDualClient and that's why it says that...

Network Filters, 1, ACDC Core Filter, 7.2.2.0, {2DB1B641-4039-4D69-831A-79915EC266CE}

That isn't the problem.

I will try without the filter but i have been round and round with my internet and portforwarding. I know its the game because when i am getting disconnected my mom is still on the internet in the other room and she is having no problems. Have not tried it with no filters. If it would help i am running the comcast cable modem that you get from comcast. The router i am running is http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/RangeMaxWirelessRoutersandGateways/WPN824.aspx. I know it would run through the cable modem probably I have not tried it because my parents use the computer and can not afford not having it i hope we can figure this out.

It could also have something to do with Life Tank I do not know though, but for some reason when i portal it sometimes goes through and then i am just a bubble. Then i can not move or do anything and my internet connection starts to go. So what i use to do is go an delete my user profile from the documents of Life tank. That worked for a while, but now its starting to happen where when i delete the profile then log back in he still is a bubble and i have to reset my internet connection. Its really werid but now that i think of it if i have decal on and i am not running life tank and just sit there he does not log off its only when i use lifetank because i usally get in game and start life tank up. I hope you guys can help me with some more of these suggestions that i gave out to you because i thought it would be decal but the past day before you guys started responding i left my guy in game for 4 hours just sitting there with decal on and he ran,So maybe its a life tank problem.

Any Suggestions?

deatheagle: post an export...

but most likely, you need to install the latest ACDualClient, run it once, then close it and uninstall it if you don't want to use it anymore. You most likely have remnants of the old install (ACDCClient.exe in the launcher.ini)

Drakier, I'm confused. Why was I wrong to point out that " [Launcher App] : ACDCClient.exe " was wrong, and suggest he fix it even though "It may not be causing your problem"

But in your next post you recommend the very action that I was suggesting because
"You most likely have remnants of the old install (ACDCClient.exe in the launcher.ini)"

Because the first guy you suggested it to HAD the latest ACDualClient and was most likely using it.... where as the guy I pointed it out to wasn't (as far as I can tell).

It's all in the details.

Edit:
Go back and read the export in the first post, and pay close attention to the Network Filters. That's the detail you missed on the first one.

Just because it says "Launcher.ini" and "ACDCClient.exe" isn't bad. ACDualClient still uses the ACDCClient.exe.. the difference was that the latest ACDualClient properly cleans up after itself.

Well i turned everything off but the filters and decal ran fine, so i guess it has to do with life tank but what could be causing life tank to do so anyone know?

I have a strange thought. Does lifetank have some sort of IRC or chat features? If it does and they are turned on, this could be the source of your trouble.

I seem to recall there was something like this in Eltank. When it went loopy, all kinds of horrid things would happen with your playing experience - Freezing, lag and even being dropped from the game.
