Subject: I am not impressed (decal errors)
I logged in at my leveling spot and received this message, OVER AND OVER, and I couldn't click ok or log off because it kept popping up. This was a .NET error message. I quickly died and this corpse is probably gone. This is the last time I trust decal on patch day.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Disable all plugins and log in with just Decal itself, get the same error messages?

then start enabling plugins one at a time until it starts coming back up.

whatever the last plugin enabled is, that's most likely the culprit of the error.

I would suggest you go and actually see if your corpse is there, it probably is. The game came up at 3pm EST. That is barely 5 hours ago. Unless you are under level 60 your corpse is still there. You get one hour base, plus 5 minutes per level. For a level 100 char, that's 9+ hours. For a level 200 char that is 17+ hours.

As for why you're getting those errors, my bet would be because you're running an old version of Alinco. If you update to the current version (1.4.8.0) I bet you wouldn't get that error.

I initially logged on with my old version of Alinco, because I liked it and had it configured how I wished, but I got errors as well, in a pop up box, and had to ctrl-alt-del acclient.exe to get it to clear. I simply uninstalled Alinco, and installed the new version, and have absolutely no problems since then.

Don't blame the issues on Decal and patch day, the memlocs appear to be just fine, but when you run outdated versions of plug-ins, you risk having issues, especially when those plug-in versions were not designed for the new version of Decal.

I had the exact same message, I disabled ALL of the plugins, and just started going in one by one, found the culprit.

An old version of Buffme. Loaded up the new version, and all was well happy

Nope, Logan. It is one hour no matter what level you are. Level 1s get one hour, level 2 gets one hour 10 min, level 3 gets one hour 15 min, etc.

Look under "Recovering"

Your corpse only persists for five minutes for each level you've attained (with a one hour minimum), and then fades, leaving your items on the ground for anyone to pick up.

Logan stated it totally correctly. One hour OR 5 minutes per level WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Read it again Ling wink

It says what Logan said. It's 5 minutes per level, but if that number is less than 1 hour it gets bumped up to 1 hour.

Corpses can actually last much longer because the timer doesn't tick when the landblock or dungeon isn't loaded on the server (it gets unloaded ~15 minutes after the last person leaves).

Hrmm, well then Ibn posted it wrong, lol. A few years back it was asked on the old forums, and he said it just like I did, level 2s get 1:10, so *shrug*

Apologies

Not to be mean here, but some of you need to go back to reading comprehension.

It is five minutes per level. Unless you are level 1-12 --> In which cause you get one hour.

So lets tear this apart:
Your corpse only persists for five minutes for each level you've attained
Seems pretty clear. Your corpse lasts five minutes per level. Then Turbine added the following exception:
(with a one hour minimum
minimium means the decay timer can not be less than a hour. It does not mean add an hour. If Turbine meant add an hour. Turbine would have said:
Your corpse only persists for five minutes for each level you've attained plus one hour...

I still see corpses from over a year ago on some of the more obscure quests I go on.
